When I put out the last letter I left out the next event at Spartan Speedway on This Friday August 10, 2018. This is a joint event for VARC and the Michiana vintage racers. This is their OLD TIMERS NIGHT. So, this is a good time for the vintage car racing to put on our “Travelling Museum of Vintage Racing Cars”. Spartan Speedway in Mason, Michigan. The Spartan speedway is now called the Corrigan Oil Spartan Speedway. The speedway is asphalt ¼ mile track with a long history. With the first races run in the 1958 season. That makes the track older than a lot of the current drivers. I am sure many of the fans will remember the racing from the past and that is where the vintage car racing will bring up some memories. We need participation from our members to make this a successful show so don’t sit home with the vintage car in the garage, dust it off and make the trip out to a truly great race track. They will be running the Wingless sprints and the other regular classes on this Friday along with our vintage cars. The gates open at 5:00pm and racing will start at 7:30pm. Let me or Dick Slagle know if you are planning on making this show. If you haven’t been out yet this season this is the time to do it as there are fewer and fewer events left. Thanks Jim McDermott
